Here is What I Have Done

I completed a seven-part exam on the fundamentals of excel to obtain an excel certificate that demonstrates a level of expertise in spreadsheet software systems. This was accomplished through vigorous class sessions that provided knowledge on organizing workbooks, creating tables, applying functions, and designing charts. Each class period I was tasked with organizing hundreds of data in fast efficient ways and applying formulas to solve accounting sheets. Each task also consisted of interpreting intricate data from the excel spreadsheet into a language that’s most understandable to managers. With preparation from my information systems of business courses, I was able to demonstrate the capability to navigate through an unfamiliar software and master this software by obtaining an excel certification.

Here is What it Means

This certification demonstrates my ability to utilize technological tools in a business setting. In the business field, it is important to diversify your area of skill in the different forms of business. As we are transitioning into a more tech-based generation, it is important to update your skills to better suit the expectations of today especially now that the e-business realm is becoming more prominent. Now that I am more knowledgeable in digital data organizational tools like excel, I can navigate through sizeable data in a quicker way. 

 

I can apply these skills to important business functions like budgeting, forecasting, and trend spotting. All of which are necessary for a well-functioning business. In addition, now that I am proficient in this skill, I will be able to analyze stored data, create forecast graphs, and calculate necessary functions in a timely manner.
